Ballot tabulation for HOA elections
For an inspector or board that needs to understand how the count works before trusting it — counting is where elections are challenged.
Planned sections
Each of these becomes an H2 with an answer block of 40 words or fewer directly beneath it, then the proof.
- How ballots are counted
- Plurality, ranked, cumulative, and approval — how each is tallied
- How write-in candidates are resolved
- When results come into existence
- What the inspector sees and when
- Questions about tabulation
Needed before this page can be written
- The strongest true fact here is that results do not exist until the inspector finalizes, and
GetElectionResultCandidateis post-finalize only. Lead with it. - Write-in resolution is inspector-controlled and live — bucket A, safe to describe.
- Worked examples of a cumulative and a ranked count would make this page genuinely useful and highly quotable. They need to be checked against how the product actually tallies, not written from general knowledge.
Meanwhile
The pages that are written are the homepage, the guide forInspectors of Elections, and the one for election services companies.
