California HOA election guides

Plain-English explanations of how California HOA board elections are supposed to work, written to be genuinely useful whether or not you ever become a customer. Every guide cites the statute it relies on and carries the date it was last checked.

How these guides are written

Every statutory claim is drafted from the current text of the code, cited by section number, and reviewed before publication. When the law changes we update the existing guide and re-date it rather than publishing a new one, so a bookmark keeps working.

BallotLink provides general information about California HOA election law, not legal advice. Statutes change. Consult your association’s counsel or a qualified California community association attorney before relying on anything here.
